 Introduction

 led by Joann Ransom, Kete Poject Manager, Horowhenua Library Trust.

Includes: Intro to Kete, Kete for the uninitiated, executive summary (technical and feature overviews), current Kete projects, prospective Kete projects, visions from: HLT, Katipo, guests.

  Session 2

 So you want a Kete

led by Walter McGinnis, Kete Developer, Katipo Communications.

Includes: various paths available now, future paths, hosting, training.

 Session 3

 Governance.

led by Rachel Hamilton-Williams, Managing Director, Katipo Communications.

Includes: What is Open Source? , Why Open Source?

Guest Speakers : Andy Linton (Citylink), Michael Koziarski (Ruby on Rails)

 Session 4

Where to Now? and Hands On

 led by Rosalie Blake, Head of Libraries, Horowhenua Library Trust.

Include: Summary of current situation, path forward, what next to do.

Then a hands on session - bring your own laptop! (cafenet available) 

4pm onwards
Casual get together in the bar - all welcome including those not able to attend during the day due to NDF Unconference commitments.

 

Who we’d like to come:

  • People / Organisations who already have a Kete install, or who have one underway
  • People / Organisations who would like to have a Kete
  • People / Organisations who are interested in supporting Kete even though they don’t have a particular project in mind for it.
  • People / Organisations who have heard of Kete but haven’t managed to get to one of Jo’s talks so want to find out more.
  • People / Organisations who may see a role for Kete in National initiatives / plans ie National Library, Peoples Network, Digital Content Strategy, Te Papa.
